The steel structure is made of steel plates, hot-rolled section steel and cold-formed thin-walled section steel.

It has the following advantages over the structure of other materials:

(1) The material strength is high and the steel is light in weight.

(2) Good toughness, plasticity, uniform material.

(3) Simple manufacturing and short construction period.

(4) Good sealing.

The disadvantages of steel structure are:

(1) There is no change in strength at 150 degrees Celsius for heat resistance but not fire resistance, and about 0.3 for 600 degrees Celsius.

(2) Steel has poor corrosion resistance and high maintenance costs. The steel used as steel structure includes steel plate, steel strip, section steel (I-beam, channel steel, angle steel), steel pipe and steel castings.
